Have a netbook or laptop that’s as inseparable to you as your limbss and feet? You would probably need an ad-hoc internet connections as well to get your work done on the go. Now we all know that we can use the N900 to tether via bluetooth or USB connection but that’s limiting to only one device per N900. Now, if you need to connect more than one device simultaneously to the web, you can use your N900 as an ad-hoc wi-fi router as well, not yet but very soon as JoikuSpot, the award winning application is headed to the Maemo 5 bandwagon soon. What exactly does this app do? Find out after the break.
If you have had a symbian phone, you would probably have heard of this innovative application now and perhaps have been using it as your wi-fi router as well, cashing-in on that unlimited data plan of yours. What this app does is: it transforms your mobile phone (N900 in this case) into a Wi-Fi router, connecting to the internet via 3G/HSDPA or any other data connection you have enabled on your phone. So basically now you can connect your laptop, iPod Touch, Camera and other Wi-Fi enabled devices on-the-go, using N900 as a wi-fi router. Doesn’t that sound just great? You can as well use this app to share your internet connection with your friends and use the opportunity to flaunt the capabilities of your N900. It is applications like these which make me love the open source platform!
